A night full of fun, laughter and banter characterized this year’s edition of the Kisumu Quiz Night at Acacia Premier Hotel.Quiz Nite is a night for marketers to share, network and have fun while at it.
Organized by Marketing Africa under the stewardship of CEO William Kalombo;in his opening address, he urged marketers to be humble, open-minded and ready to learn adding that the people giving you lessons could be your peers or juniors.
The battle of wits event hosted by Urban Radio’s Chris Okinda and Maurice Ochieng’ alias Mdomo Baggy formally kicked –off with a keynote address from Power Talks Consultants, Chief Transformation Officer Dr. Wale Akinyemi.
The celebrated author and motivational speaker based his talk on the theme Beyond intelligence: Mastering Art of Relevance.
Akinyemi urging marketers to ensure their cycle of value is expanded every other day so as to be relevant in their careers. Adding that relevance draws people and is the only thing that get people paid rather than intelligence as has been the notion.
Quiz nite; a trivia challenge saw teams including Bazenga, Twiga, Women of Relevance, Stima, Twaweza, La Liga, Welo Chalo Lowo, Handshake and Wire Wire gather in confident of outwitting each other with their perceived encyclopedic language.
The teams went head-to-head through six rounds of questions, with each round having a set of questions based on a given category. Categories included General Knowledge, Brands, Faces, Movies, National Anthems and Music.
Team Handshake (CPF Financial) won with 38 points followed at close range with La Liga (DSTV)at 37 points with Stima (Kenya Power) closing the rank at number three with 26 points.
